In order to improve this task for future use, a few changes are recommended. The first being that I believe using a book as a process journal instead of a blogging website as it would be easier and more efficient. This is because the internet posed many problems for not just myself but other members of the group throughout the process, some of these being: the internet not connecting or failing altogether, the site being hard to use, work and understand and computer malfunctions that resulted in blog updates being deleted. All of these were a set-back and a fair amount of time was wasted in sorting out and resolving these issues.
Another positive change could be increasing the amount of product the recipe produces as this would be more profitable and this recipe can be easily altered.
More preparation in planning the taste testing day would also be more beneficial in future trials as on the day we held it, we were not expecting such a large amount of staff and students to turn up to try the foods and this resulted in us not having enough cutlery and plates/bowels to go around. Another issue with this was that we had not previously decided on how we were going to portion the foods and we started out giving a couple of items to each student instead of just the 1 which, in the end, lead to some staff and students missing out. Making sure students filled out the feedback forms in future would also be a useful change as many students did not fill them out so it was harder to receive feedback and to determine the most successful foods and the recipes that would be implemented within the tuckshop.
The tuckshop could also change the herbs and vegetables used in the recipe to include more of what the students would want in order to make the meal more popular and therefore profitable, however, the feedback and reactions from staff and students do indicate that the final recipe chosen was enjoyed by many.
